OUR SCHOOL RULES
School rules are necessary to help create a caring environment where there is mutual respect and understanding for all people and to enable the school to function in an orderly manner so that it is possible for everyone to learn and for the teacher to teach.
The Governors have a policy which forbids any form of discrimination or harassment within the school and this includes racial or sexual discrimination. To achieve these purposes throughout the child's school life the following guidelines apply.
- Listen to adults and do as we are asked first time.
- Use our hands, feet and all objects sensibly.
- Work at a noise level appropriate for the work we are doing.
- Try to do our best.
- Listen to others without interrupting. If we wish to speak we put up our hand and wait to be asked by the teacher.
- Move quietly and safely around the school showing consideration for others.
- Behave in a way that allows the teacher to teach and all children to learn.
- Treat others, as we would like to be treated.
Under paragraph 9(c) of the Articles of Government of Secondary, Special, Primary and Nursery Schools, a Head Teacher has " the power to exclude a pupil from the school whether by suspension, expulsion or otherwise." The 1996 Education Act now limits school suspension to fifteen school days in aggregate in any one term. The law also requires that a pupil shall not lose an opportunity to take a public examination as a result of expulsion. |
