MORNING BREAK
Morning break is for 15 minutes. Children may only bring fruit and a non-fizzy drink at break time sold by the canteen staff. Children must go into the playground at morning break and dinner time as there is no supervision in the classroom at this time. If children are not well enough to go outside they should not be sent to school. ‘Fruit tuck’ is sold by the canteen staff. Foundation Stage and KS1 pupils benefit from the Government Fruit and Vegetable Scheme which provides each child with a piece of fruit or vegetable daily.
SCHOOL MEALS
School meals are prepared on the premises and children can stay to school dinner or bring a packed lunch. Dinners are eaten in the dining room where Lunch-break Supervisors are in attendance. Children who are eating packed lunch may bring a drink in a plastic container. No hot drinks or cans, bottles or thermos flasks are allowed. Children eating school meals will be given a drink of water and should not bring other drinks.
Dinner money is collected on Mondays and should be sent in an envelope with the child's name, class and the amount of money enclosed written on the outside and days a school dinner is required. Payments may be made weekly, half-termly or termly, in advance, in cash or by cheque - payable to South Gloucestershire Council. Please check with the school office for the amounts. Any absences will be credited. Dinners must be paid for in advance and no other dinner money/orders will be taken during the rest of the week.
No child staying in school at lunchtime is allowed to leave the premises unless a request has been made by a parent to the Headteacher. In this case the child must be collected from the school office by a responsible adult.
