Children worked in pairs to independently research an area of Italian life and presented this to other members of class and school. Finally, we tasted some Italian cuisine, including mozzarella, focaccia, olives and Italian cold meats. We have all thoroughly enjoyed the week and learnt a huge amount. Arrivederci!

We discovered where Poland is in Europe as well as its main cities and geographical landmarks. We have also researched Poland through the internet and books and discovered many fascinating facts. Flamenco music and dancing, making spanish fans, creating cubist portraits in the style of Picasso and learning simple songs in Spanish are just some of the activities Y2 children have enjoyed this week. Cooking and tasting typical Spanish food – gazpacho, Spanish omelette and tapas – were popular activities too. A great week was had by all while learning about the language, food and culture of Spain.
