Equalities
At Beacon Rise, we promote equality of opportunity so that all pupils can thrive together, understanding that difference is a positive, not a negative, and that individual characteristics make people unique. This includes, but is not limited to, pupils’ understanding of the protected characteristics and how equality and diversity are promoted. We pride ourselves in the fact that all children who join a club get the opportunity to showcase their skills, for example in competitive sport or in a Create BR show.
We have an Equalities Team who meet regularly to ensure that this is monitored, planned for and reviewed. Pupil voice sessions are also held to gain insight into pupil understanding of the importance of equality.
