Food and Drink
Our school meals provider is Aspens, who are a privately owned catering company who cater exclusively for school meals.
Aspens use fresh, high quality and locally sourced ingredients that the children enjoy. Every day there will be a hot meal, vegetarian option, jacket potato and salad bar and all the meals are homemade and cooked on site daily. Along with these there is fresh bread baked daily, fresh fruit and homemade natural yoghurt with fruit puree.
All children, who are in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2, will still be entitled to receive a daily free school meal. For children in Year 3, 4, 5 and 6, the price of a school dinner has reduced is £1.99 per day or £9.95 per week.
Alternatively children may bring their own packed lunch to school and are encouraged to provide food in line with our healthy eating aims.
Fruit is provided daily for all Reception and Key Stage 1 pupils and is eaten with a drink at playtime in the morning.
Water can be brought into school each day.
Toast is provided for purchase at breaktime in the morning.
FREE SCHOOL MEALS – HOW TO APPLY
Parents and carers can now apply for free school meals online via the Citizen Portal, using the link below. Your eligibility will be checked online, and the portal will let you know whether your child is eligible for free school meals. If your child is eligible you will receive a confirmation message, and the school will be notified directly. If you are not eligible you will be presented with a message stating this.
Please note, if you have already completed a primary or secondary school place application for the academic year via the portal, you do not need to re‑register when applying for free school meals. Please use the login details that you have already set up.
Pupils School Milk
School age children up to their 5th birthday are entitled to free milk, but we are able to offer fresh milk daily to children at Beacon Rise Primary school through a scheme set up jointly by the Local Education Authority, and School Milk Services Limited. The milk is subsidised in part from EC funding and is available to all children aged from five to eleven years.
You would pay just £1.25 a week for your child to receive 200ml carton of semi-skimmed milk at the morning break period. The method of payment for this scheme is in advance direct to School Milk Services, by cheque, postal order (made payable to School Milk Services Ltd) or credit card payment.
