School Finance

Background

Beacon Rise Primary School’s finances are kept under thorough regulation by the School Finance Administrator and School Business Leader with weekly checks from the Executive Leadership Team, monthly reporting to the Principal and termly detailed reporting to governors.

The Finance Chair of governors also produces an annual Schools Financial Value Statement to provide assurance that the school is managing its resources effectively and meeting the standards necessary to achieve a good level of financial health and management.

The Local Authority provide Beacon Rise Primary with constant financial advice and support as well as the services of a Schools Financial Officer who provides regular internal auditing and assistance.

Adequate measures are in place to protect public finances which include an up-to-date whistleblowing policy, a concise school inventory and pecuniary interests which are updated by all staff annually or whenever there is a new interest to be raised.

The school uses realistic and sustainable strategy when budgeting for the next 3+ years, taking into consideration assumption regarding future funding, pupil numbers, previous spend and potential external financial pressures. All of this of this strategic forecasting is completed in line with the School Development Plan and also accompanied with a disaster recovery plan, risk register and critical incident policies which are reviewed regularly.

School Fund

The aims of the school fund are to advance and enhance the education of the pupils of Beacon Rise Primary School by raising funds from parents, pupils, donations from Friends of Beacon Rise, and the local community.

Schools are required to publish the number of employees that have a gross annual salary of £100,000 or above. Beacon Rise Primary School has one member of staff with a salary of that level.
