South Glos County Finals

On Tuesday 17th March, TeamBR Girls Netball took park in the South Glos Netball Finals.  We played 5 matches in the group stage.  We won 4 matches and lost 1.  All the scores were collected and the results were announced.  We had made it through to the semi-finals.

In the semi-final, we played St Stephen’s.  The game was very fast with the ball moved from end to end.  We defended really well and managed to pass the ball to our shooting end. Luckily for us Elissa scored 2 goals and Trixie scored 1 top put up 3-0 ahead.  St Stephen’s then scored a goal to make the final score 3-1 to us.

We were so excited, we made it to the final.  In the final, we played Marshfield.  We played really well with both Jess and Briony scoring a goal each.  The final score was 2-0 to us.  We won the South Glos Netball Finals.

We will now represent South Glos, along with Marshfield, in the Avon County Netball Finals in April.

Team BR go to watch Team Bath play Team Northumbria

On Friday 13th March, TeamBR Netball went to Bath University to watch Team Bath play Team Northumbria. We were all very excited and couldn’t wait. Most of us bought horns to cheer Team Bath on. The first quarter was very tight with both teams scoring lots and taking the lead. In the second quarter Team Bath scored lots and began to take the lead comfortably.

Shaunagh Craig played in the second half. It’s was great to watch her after she came to school to train us. She scored about 20 goals. The final score was 63-24 to Team Bath. After the match, Shaunagh Craig came and sat with TeamBR and we had a group photo. She then got her autograph. We also met Stacy Francis and Cook along with some of the other players. We got their autographs and some of us had selfies with them.

We had a fantastic time. The netball was unbelievable; it a was so fast and furious.
